A NEW COMMUNITY HUB CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT IN UCLUELET
The Redd Fish Stewardship Centre is a new community hub currently under development in Ucluelet, BC in the territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Ucluelet) First Nation.
Designed to inspire curiosity, connection and stewardship, the centre will bring the story of the west coast to life, showing how healthy watersheds, thriving oceans, and resilient communities are deeply connected.
The Stewardship Centre will be a year-round hub for education, culture, and environmental leadership.

THE VISION
The Redd Fish Stewardship Centre is rooted in the understanding that everything is interconnected. Just as salmon, forests, bears, oceans, and rivers depend upon one another, our human communities are also connected and rely upon healthy lands and waters. The Centre will create a place for people to gather, share knowledge, learn from one another, and build stronger relationships with the natural world.
Our goal is to inspire people to become active stewards of the lands and waters that sustain us and to build a stronger, more connected and resilient coastal community.
The Redd Fish Stewardship Centre is a community and visitor hub being created through the renovation and transformation of an aging building in downtown Ucluelet (the former Murray’s Grocery store on Pensinula Rd.). We are revitalizing this existing space and giving it a new purpose.
Supporting the Stewardship Centre means growing our restoration economy by supporting Redd Fish’s work to restore habitat, uplift culture, strengthen ecological resilience, and reinvest in the communities and ecosystems that sustain us.
Our Fundraising Goal is $2.8 million to fund:
Culturally informed exhibits
Educational Programming
Renovations to an existing building in the heart of Ucluelet
By supporting the Centre, you are helping create a lasting community asset that inspires stewardship, environmental literacy, and cultural understanding.
Through immersive exhibits, educational programming, art, science, and storytelling, visitors will gain a deeper appreciation for the interconnected relationships between land, water, wildlife, and people.
Your support helps create opportunities for learning, dialogue, and action while strengthening community connections and fostering the next generation of environmental stewards.
We work with businesses, organizations, and individuals whose values align with our vision for a healthy, resilient future. Together, we can create a space that inspires curiosity, connection, and stewardship for generations to come.
